The Roots were set to play both of the massive David Bowie tribute concerts at Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall in New York, which take place tomorrow and Friday night. Now, Questlove has revealed that the band will no longer be playing, and neither will Kimbra or Bilal. In an Instagram post (below), he alludes to a dispute over shared equipment. "We have patience. But we do NOT have patience for the #Bitchassness," he wrote. "Enjoy your precious equipment." Questlove's music site Okayplayer is the exclusive media partner for both tribute concerts. Bilal was just added to the concerts' lineup on Monday. Update 3/31 1:34 p.m.: Concert organizer Michael Dorf has responded to Questlove's post. He says there was a "miscommunication," and hopes the Roots will reconsider pulling out of the concerts. Find his full statement below.

Michael Dorf's response:

There was a miscommunication about the use of the Holy Holy’s drum kit last night on the tight City Winery stage for the rehearsal show. Very unfortunate. I would hope that after a nights sleep and knowing we have a much larger stage with multiple drum kits and other equipment that The Roots will still join us this evening. They have been a regular part of our tribute series and we deeply love and respect them. I remain hopeful they will still join the important celebration of David Bowie’s music tonight and tomorrow and the two sold out shows can experience their powerful performance as one of the 20 amazing songs planned.
